Der Handball EHF Champions League Sieger 2016, CSM Bukarest, trennte sich von Cheftrainer Jakob Vestergaard. Nach einer umfassenden Analyse der Entwicklungen in dieser Saison erkannte das Club-Management von CSM Bukarest die Notwendigkeit zu einer Veränderung, um neuen Schwung in der Königsklasse sowie rumänischen Meisterschaft zu holen. Deshalb trennte sich CSM Bukarest von Jakob Vestergaard. Sein Platz wird der rumänische Trainer Aurelian Rosca einnehmen. CSM Bukarest dankte Jakob Vestergaard für seinen Beitrag zum Aufbau des Teams, das die Champions League gewonnen hat und wünscht ihm Erfolg in seiner weiteren Karriere.

Aurelian Rosca (48) has extensive experience in Romanian handball, both at national team and club. As head coach, he has won Romania’s team gold medal Junior World Championship 2014 (Macedonia) and European U18 title in 1999. At the senior national team, he was part of the coaching staff led by Cornel Otelea in 2003/2004. Coached at club level main teams such as Oltchim, Cetate Deva, Corona Brasov and HCM Baia Mare, the last reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League, 2015-2016 edition. As background, he played with Oltchim Champions League final in 2009-2010 and won the Challenge Cup with Corona Brasov in 2006.
Team goals for this season remain unchanged, Aurelian Rosca having the chance to be the first Romanian coach at a Romanian team qualified for the Final4 of the Champions League in April, ever since the competition took this format. „Following are two very important matches in the Champions League.
